Sluice Network’s Sustainable Initiatives Plan: A Path to a Greener, More Prosperous Nigeria
We set out to foster a sustainable Nigeria by promoting local businesses, empowering communities, and inspiring conscious consumerism of local productions. We want to leverage our platforms to educate, inspire, and connect Nigerians with sustainable solutions, driving economic growth and environmental responsibility.

Podcast Series: We produce a weekly podcast featuring interviews with industry leaders, entrepreneurs, analysts and policymakers, and also an analysis on how thriving is our economy compared to globalization, discussing the importance of local consumption as against foreign goods and services.
Street Vox Pop: We conduct regular street interviews to capture the voices of everyday Nigerians and their perspectives on local businesses and sustainable living.
Social Media Campaigns: Utilize social media platforms to share inspiring stories, tips, and challenges that encourage people to look inward and start by growing locally to attract international markets.
Partnerships: We collaborate with local businesses, NGOs, Diaspora and government agencies to amplify the message and create impactful initiatives.
- Partnering with community organizations to identify young Nigerians with potential but limited opportunities.
- Develop comprehensive training programs focused on practical skills like Artisanship, digital and technology, entrepreneurship, and sustainable models for agriculture.
- Provide mentorship and ongoing support to help trainees launch and grow their businesses.
- Facilitate Gigs, job placements and internships within the network of partner businesses.
- Organize workshops in various communities to teach practical skills like composting, recycling, and energy conservation.
- Develop educational programs to instill economic awareness and sustainable habits in young minds.
- Offer workshops to businesses to help them adopt sustainable practices and reduce over reliance on foreign goods and their environmental impact.
To provide financial seed funding, mentorship, and networking opportunities to young entrepreneurs who have been inspired and equipped through our platforms and Go For Business initiatives.
This will select applicants who must demonstrate active engagement with our platforms, Must be between 18-35 years old and a Nigerian citizen.
Must have been running a local well-defined and sustainable business idea as advised for at least 12 months with a steady growth pattern. And pitch the business growth plans to a selection committee in our yearly growth conference. Winners have the chance to win between N500k to N1,500,000 each.
Measuring Impact
- Social Impact: Track the number of people reached through our campaigns, the number of individuals trained, and the number of jobs created.
- Economic Impact: Monitor the growth of local businesses supported by our initiatives and the increase in local consumption.
- Environmental Impact: Measure the reduction in street boys/girls without directions, as a result of our efforts.
Long-Term Vision
- Sustainable Marketplace: Create an online platform to connect local producers and international consumers, facilitating easy access to sustainable products prepared to meet international standards and ready for exports.
- Impact Investment Fund: Establish a fund to invest in sustainable businesses and social enterprises, driving innovation and job creation in our local economy.
- Policy Advocacy: Advocate for policies that promote sustainable business development, fair trade, and business environmental protection.
- Partnership: We seek partnership from both Nigerians in diaspora and international bodies at large, through knowledge and exposure sharing, consultation and funding.
